Dr Georgios Samaras holds the position of Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the Policy Institute and International School for Government, King’s College London. His research focuses on public policy responses to far-right extremism and the rise of unconstitutional approaches in European politics. He obtained his PhD in Political Science from King’s College London, and his MA in Education Policy from the same institution. His doctoral research specifically delved into the emergence of the far-right Greek neo-Nazi party, ‘Golden Dawn,’ and its influence on voting behaviour.

From 2019 to 2022, Dr Samaras contributed to the field by teaching politics at University College London and the London School of Economics. In addition to his academic pursuits, he serves as a political adviser in Greece. Notably, he holds Fellowships with the Populism Team and the Higher Education Academy of the UK.
