Lori Watson, Professor of Philosophy at Washington University in Saint Louis and co-author (with Jessica Flanigan) of Debating Sex Work, speaks to the ENA Centre for Political Theory about sex work.
She is also the co-author, with Patrick Hurley, of A Concise Introduction to Logic, 13th ed. (Cengage, 2016); with Christie Hartley, of Equal Citizenship and Public Reason: A Feminist Political Liberalism (Oxford UP, 2018) and with Andrew Altman, of Debating Pornography (Oxford UP, 2019).
In this interview, she contemplates whether “sex work is work” and describes different regulatory approaches for markets of sexual services. After analyzing alternative policy proposals for sex work, she defends the “equality model” of prostitution.
